Finding Hope in Crisis: A Biblical Perspective

Exodus 14

A Poem by Jason Lane

In a time of crisis, despair takes hold,
It whispers defeat, makes hearts turn cold.
Fear calls to retreat, to step away,
Impatience urges, “Act without delay.”

Presumption beckons, “Jump in the fray!”
But the voice of God bids us to stay:
“Stand still, hold fast, and know My might,
Watch salvation unfold, pure as light.”

In the storm’s grasp, the Lord takes the field,
The foe is vanquished, their fate is sealed.
A path is carved through impossible sea,
For His power breaks chains, setting hearts free.

There’s no need for weeping, no reason for dread,
Stretch forth your hand; be Spirit-led.
And all will know, across every land,
The Lord as the Great I Am will stand.

“And Israel saw that great work which the LORD did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the LORD, and believed the LORD, and His servant Moses.” Ex 14:31
