God Is For You – Romans 8:31–39

“If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)

Paul’s questions in Romans 8 remind us of an unshakable truth: God is for His people.

  • He did not spare His own Son—so why would He withhold anything good?
  • He has justified us—so no accusation can stand.
  • He loves us—so nothing can separate us from His presence.

Life will bring trials, but suffering doesn’t mean abandonment. As Derek Kidner said, hardship may be a “battle scar, the price of loyalty in a world at war with God.” In those moments, remember: we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

Your relationship with God produces confidence, identity, victory, and motivation. You can stand strong knowing:

  • He is your salvation and strength.
  • You are a new creation, chosen and adopted.
  • Trials may press you, but they cannot destroy you.
  • His love compels you to live with eternity in view.

Paul closed this section with a personal persuasion: “I am convinced…” That same confidence can be yours today. Whatever you face, live persuaded that nothing can separate you from the love of Christ.

Prayer: Lord, help me to rest in the truth that You are for me. Strengthen my confidence, remind me of my identity, and lead me to walk in victory today.
